Meet Attorney
Named among the Top 100 Black Lawyers in America and backed by over 30 years of experience, Attorney Richard A. Ryles is a trusted advocate for the people across the state
Attorney Ryles began his legal career in West Palm Beach in 1990 and went on to establish The Ryles Firm. Over the decades that followed, he built his practice around a straightforward philosophy: prepare every case as though it may ultimately have to be proven in court.
That approach has helped produce significant verdicts and settlements for clients in matters involving wrongful death, negligent security, commercial vehicle crashes, premises liability, and other serious personal injury cases.
His legal career has also extended beyond the courtroom. Richard has held leadership and public-service roles throughout West Palm Beach and has remained deeply involved in the community that shaped him.
Today, that legacy enters a new chapter with Ryles & Straghn Injury Lawyers. Together with Attorney Dedrick D. Straghn, Richard continues the work he has spent more than three decades building—representing injured people, holding responsible parties accountable, and preparing cases with the experience and determination serious injuries demand.

ATTORNEY DEDRICK D. STRAGHN
BRINGS DEEP SOUTH FLORIDA ROOTS,
HOWARD LAW TRAINING, AND A
LIFELONG COMMITMENT TO JUSTICE,
SERVICE, AND COMMUNITY.
Attorney Straghn’s experience spans personal injury, civil rights law, employment law, election law, probate, estate planning, and complex civil litigation. He has represented clients in both state and federal courts and has handled matters involving municipalities, public agencies, businesses, organizations, and individuals throughout Florida.
His commitment to advocacy began long before he entered a courtroom. Dedrick comes from a family with generations of involvement in the fight for equal treatment, economic opportunity, and greater independence for Black residents of Palm Beach County.
Today, he serves as President of the South Palm Beach County Branch of the NAACP—an organization founded by his grandfather in 1981. In that role, he continues his family’s legacy through civil rights advocacy, civic engagement, community leadership, and efforts to expand opportunity throughout southern Palm Beach County.
Now, as a partner at Ryles & Straghn Injury Lawyers, Attorney Straghn brings that same commitment to people who have been injured or wronged. His approach combines decades of litigation experience with a deeply rooted belief that the practice of law should ultimately be about service: standing with people, protecting their rights, and making sure their voices are heard.
